Visit and Lunch

Considered to be one of the most beautiful monuments of Gothic art in Europe, the cathedral attracts more than 400,000 visitors each year.
It was built in the 12th and 13th centuries, consecrated on October 20, 1275 in the presence of Pope Gregory X. This means it was standing there before Switzerland was born in 1291! For many of us the cathedral is just standing up there and shapes the skyline of Lausanne. Over the 750 years of its existence, history has left its mark on the outside and the inside. Our guide will take us through this treasure and witness of time. After the visit we will have lunch at the authentic local restaurant “The Vieux Lausanne”. We possibly may be able to eat outside on the terrasse overlooking the town.

Meeting : 10:20 at the main entrance of the cathedral
    Tour in French (maybe in English if a English speaking guide is found) of about 1 hour.
    12:00 Lunch at restaurant “Le Vieux Lausanne” situated just below the cathedral
Cost: 5.00/person   Lunch is on your own
