Moulin de Sévery
Tuesday April 18, 2023
Lunch and Visit

Located in the canton of Vaud, at the foot of the Jura, along the river "La Morges", the Moulin de Sévery is today the last mill in Switzerland to carry out a craft activity throughout the year. These craftsmen perpetuate the traditional techniques of making walnut, hazelnut, pistachio, rapeseed oil and 14 other types of old-fashioned pressed products.
The first written record referring to the Moulin de Sévery dates from 1228. Six generations of the Bovey family, and recently the seventh, have succeeded each other at the Moulin de Sévery since 1810. From father to son, and now from father to daughters, this transmission of knowledge has made it possible to perpetuate the know-how and mastery of the techniques of the oil maker.

The guided visit will take us through the mill and show us the nut cracking and pressing process. We will discover all the steps that lead to the bottled oils.
The site has also an attractive boutique where all their products can be bought. The Moulin de Sévery is also part of the network of “Grand sites Suisse du Goût”, a network of territories and sites that pairs gastronomy, wines and visits to their sites. Enjoy
